We wish to promote responsible tourism concept at our homestay. The staffs who work in our homestay are neighbors of our homestay and including tribal community. We are giving authentic Wayanad food to our guest. Even in the case of our welcome drink, we provide chukka kaappi to our guest.

CHUKKU KAAPPI – It is a traditional Drink used by Wayanad people. Chukku Kappi is a traditional South Indian beverage which is very spicy, sweet and hot. In addition to chukku (Dry ginger), the kaapi (coffee) traditionally contains Tulsi (holy basil), black pepper, cumin, coriander, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, coffee and jiggery/Sugar. `chukku’ is a common ingredient in almost all Ayurveda medicines, because of its carminative and digestive properties. According to Ayurveda, indigestion in all levels of metabolism is the root cause of all diseases. So a daily drinking of such an ingredient is good enough to keep sickness away. We provide Chukku Kaapi as our welcome drink at Three Roots, Sulthan Bathery, Wayanad.

We try to collect all vegetables from local organic farms and at the same time use native plants like Curry leaves, Spinach, Ginger, Turmeric, Coffee, Black Pepper, Nutmeg, Cloves, Cinnamon etc. All food prepared by a lady who living near to our homestay. When we look it through a responsible tourism view, we provide job for this lady in our homestay and we give a reasonable payment for her ability. Try to have a taste of her food; you never forget the taste of Wayanad.
